Overview

Application & construction

For use in heavy duty medium voltage service as a power supply cable for mobile and portable mining equipment, loaders, drag lines, shovels, dredges and drills, where flex life is required, and for systems that require an internal ground check conductor for added safety. Temperatures from -40°C to +90°C.

Structure

Conductors — 6 AWG thru 500 kcmil annealed tinned coated copper, bunched wires, rope-lay-stranded per ASTM B172
Conductor shield — Extruded thermosetting semi-conducting stress control layer over conductor
Insulation — Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR)
Insulation shield — Flexible coated copper/textile braid shield applied over non-conducting overlapped tape
Ground check conductor — Annealed tinned coated copper, rope-lay-stranded per ASTM B172, insulated with high-strength yellow polypropylene
Ground conductor — Annealed tinned coated copper, rope-lay-stranded per ASTM B172; two conductors in contact with the flexible copper braid shield
Separator — Polyamide open braid applied overall
